The older I have gotten the more I realize that I thrive from having a schedule. Are you the same way? I love knowing what I am going to do today and what time I am going to do things at. Maybe that’s just a result of being married to Taylor (he’s routine driven too). At the beginning of the year I purchased a monthly/weekly/daily planner and it has changed. my. life. Usually I sit down at the beginning of the week on Sunday and plan out my days for that week. I plan my walks, my play dates, my chores, even my meals. This is what my daily routine looks like. Today’s post is going up really late because… well, to be completely honest I just could not come up with something to write about for the life of me! I tried sitting down on three different occasions to make sure I had content to write and time to edit but my mind was blank. Even still, I don’t know what to talk about. So, I guess today we will just talk about what’s on my mind. Continue reading “Random Thoughts”
Ahh- quiet time. I have put my son to bed and rest in the silence of the evening. The time has come for me to decide what I am going to do for the rest of my day. Do I watch Netflix, or a podcast, or maybe a YouTube video? We are bombarded with choices throughout the day… most of them we make without even realizing it. Whether you hit snooze on your alarm clock for the fifth time, what you had for breakfast this morning, these are only small examples of the many choices we make throughout the day. I wonder, do you choose to spend time with God? Do you put God as a priority in your day? Not like a checklist item, we’ve all done that before. I mean, out of all the things you could do, study, or read, is God your first choice? Today we will be talking about three things: our choices, who we are because of our choices, and the result of those choices.
This week I would like to lend my platform to my husband, Taylor. Earlier this week we had a pretty lengthy heart to heart reflecting on our marriage and the seasons of life that we’ve endured together. He spoke eloquently and thoughtfully about this topic so I thought it would be insightful for you to hear from him firsthand. Continue reading “Chapters of Marriage”
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
Hi, my name is Rachel and I am a home decor addict. I have always loved to express myself creatively through the things I put in my living space. When I was a kid I played the Sims just so I could design, style, and decorate a house! I am trying to keep this verse in mind when it comes to decorating my new house. This months’ faith mom’s topic was about decorating your home for God’s glory. Needless to say I came prepared to take lots of notes! Continue reading “Decorating Your Home for God’s Glory”
The groundhog has spoken – it is officially spring! Oh what a joyous season: budding flowers, crisp air, the sun wakes up from her wintery slumber… there’s green all around! I have always thought summer was my favorite season, but I think spring might be taking its place. I have big plans for this spring, so I have created my very first spring bucket list! Here are my top points I would like to accomplish this season. Continue reading “My Spring Bucket List”
You know in “Say Yes to the Dress” the bride rings a bell when she’s found her wedding gown? There should be something like that when you close on your first house! Taylor and I closed on our first house on March 1st, but there was no bell to ring. Instead there were only papers to sign and keys to receive. Nevertheless, the feeling of responsibility, excitement, accomplishment, and happiness was enough celebration for me! This is the story of our journey to buying a house for the very first time.
